2014 Winter Term Chronicles Part 3

Those who submitted to this third and final installment of the 2014 Winter Term Chronicles include a group of flutists who learned to dissect and repair their own flutes, a first-year student who conducted research in the lab of a MacArthur Genius, students who traveled to India, Morocco, southern France, and Canada; and a group who created a brand new “impropera.”

I joined a group of more than 100 college and university presidents from across the country on January 16 for a day-long summit meeting at the White House about the need to launch an action plan for increasing college access and success for low-income and disadvantaged students.
Symposium Adds to National Divestment Conversation

On Sunday, February 9, eight national experts on endowment and socially responsible investing will take part in a day-long examination of strategies for investing, divesting, and effecting social change through investment. The day’s discussions are free and open to all members of the campus community and the public.
