From a conservatory tour in Chicago to the production of an original play by one of Oberlin’s own students, much happened this January. There is even more to look forward to in February as the Oberlin community observes Africana Unity and Celebration Month.

In the lead-up to the international climate talks in Paris, our college reiterated its commitment to climate action in a letter to the Obama administration, and our faculty affirmed Oberlin’s commitment to sustainability and combating climate change by approving an implementation plan for achieving our goals of becoming carbon neutral by 2025.

The Supreme Court will hear arguments on December 9 in the Fisher v. University of Texas case challenging the university’s racially conscious admissions policy.

Founder of Sirius Radio and United Therapeutics and avid researcher in the synthesis of technology and the human body Martine Rothblatt will visit campus as a Convocation speaker on Thursday, November 5.
