Music Theater Program Facilities
Music Theater students at Oberlin hone their craft in a custom-built learning space and perform in the most versatile venues on campus.
Conservatory East Studios
The Music Theater program is housed in Conservatory East Studios, an 8,600-square-foot venue centrally located between the main conservatory complex and the college’s theater and dance facilities.
Custom-made for Music Theater, Conservatory East is equipped with two expansive multipurpose studios that readily transition for use as dance studios, classrooms, and rehearsal spaces.
Both multipurpose rooms are outfitted with ballet barres, sprung floors, mirrors, and self-record audiovisual systems—and both welcome abundant sunlight through wall-length windows that look out onto the bucolic town of Oberlin.
Conservatory East features spacious studios for Music Theater faculty and staff, as well as four student practice rooms.

Conservatory East Studios includes plenty of space for students to stretch out and relax, and also quieter spots perfect for studying.

The Conservatory Complex
Music Theater students take many of the core classes for their major in the conservatory’s main complex.
Most conservatory classrooms are housed in Bibbins Hall.
The conservatory complex also includes the Kohl Building (pictured), home of Oberlin's Jazz Studies program and Clonick Hall Recording Studio; Robertson Hall, with its 150 windowed practice rooms; and performance venues Warner Concert Hall, Stull Recital Hall, and Kulas Recital Hall.
Performing Spaces
Music Theater productions are staged at major venues in nearby Cleveland. On campus, most performances happen in the Wurtzel Theater and the Birenbaum Innovation and Performance Space.
The Wurtzel Theater is a highly flexible, 300-seat venue that serves as Music Theater's primary performing home on campus and also hosts Oberlin Theater productions.
The Birenbaum Space is a sleek, cabaret-style venue perfect for more intimate performances. It's conveniently located next to Conservatory East Studios and the Hotel at Oberlin.
