Biography

Michael Grzesiak joined Oberlin College as vice president for advancement in January 2020. As a first-generation college student, he has a deep appreciation for the transformational value of a liberal arts education. He most recently served as vice president for development and alumni engagement and chief of staff at Washington & Jefferson College.

During his 13-year tenure at Washington & Jefferson, he led a $100 million campaign to raise funds for endowment, capital improvements, and the annual fund. He also directed fundraising efforts for the sciences and raised more than $32 million toward the construction of a new science center.

Previously he worked at the Cleveland Foundation, where he provided leadership for fundraising activities as director of gift planning.

At Oberlin, Grzesiak is responsible for leading the advancement team, which is responsible for educating, inspiring, and deepening donor and volunteer engagement and philanthropy in support of the college and conservatory.
