Biography

I am currently a PhD student studying counseling psychology at the University of Akron. I grew up in the Pacific Northwest before attending school in Utah, where I earned a BS in psychology.

I take a person-centered therapeutic approach with a strong multicultural emphasis. I value developing authentic and meaningful relationships with my clients, and I believe that therapy should be a collaborative process of healing and growth. I often draw from an Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) framework to help clients achieve greater mindfulness and authenticity.

I have a particular interest in supporting LGBTQ+ clients and others who are navigating identity exploration, particularly when those identities are marginalized. I aim to work holistically with my clients, remembering that each individual’s various identities (gender, sexuality, religion, race, etc.) intersect differently; in other words, I believe that each individual’s perspective and path is unique, and I strive to honor that.
