Biography

Kevin Brown is the chief facilities officer for the college. A native of Dayton, Ohio, in 1989, he earned a Bachelor of Science in ocean engineering at the United States Naval Academy. He holds a Master of Business Administration at DePaul University, and completed the Advanced Executive Program at the Kellogg School of Management. He also is a registered Professional Engineer.

Brown spent 28 years in the Navy after his academy graduation. His Navy tours include multiple stops in numerous location including Orlando, FL; Idaho Falls, ID; Great Lakes, IL; Adak, AL; Port Hueneme, CA; Andrews Air Force Base, Camp Springs, MD; Roosevelt Roads, Puerto Rico; Washington, D.C., and Naples, Italy.

From November 2012 until July 2015, he was the commanding officer, Center for Seabees and Facilities Engineering and the Civil Engineer Corps Officers School in Port Hueneme, CA. His last position in the Navy was as the strategic laydown and dispersal assessment chair for the chief of Naval Operations in the Pentagon.

Prior to coming to Oberlin, Brown was the general manager for Ventura Water, serving from September 2017 until his appointment in February 2019.
