Biography
Jacob Dunwiddie serves as the senior director of student success and LEAD (Learning Enhancement Across the Disciplines) chair in the Center for Student Success. He teaches LEAD courses and provides holistic student success and academic coaching which support students’ personal, academic, and professional development.
Jacob began his collegiate journey as a first-generation student at Kent State University in Ohio and earned a Bachelors of Science in teacher education. During his undergraduate studies, he worked as a resident assistant, an intern for the LGBTQ Center, and an alumni office ambassador. After graduation, Jacob attended the University of Vermont where he earned a Masters of Education in higher education and student affairs. At the University of Vermont, he worked in residence life, career services, and the Dean of Students office.
Jacob moved to New York after earning his Masters degree and served as the area director for junior and senior living in residential life at Colgate University. He then returned to Ohio as the Assistant Director for Career Exploration and Equity Programming at the College of Wooster. In this role, he served as the primary career advisor for all students and liaised with the Center for Diversity and Inclusion to create a stronger partnership between the two offices.
Jacob looks forward to bringing his higher education experience and knowledge to Oberlin College and Conservatory, and is looking forward to helping students achieve their goals.
