The Oberlin Sonny Rollins Jazz Ensemble, under the direction of Oberlin Conservatory jazz guitar professor Bobby Ferrazza, brings the powerful spirit of legendary saxophonist Sonny Rollins to life. Founded in 2018 with Rollins' support, the ensemble carries his mission of using music to uplift humanity. Following their 2019 New York debut at Dizzy's Club, these standout student musicians return to perform original works and fresh arrangements of Rollins’ compositions, along with jazz standards, showcasing their skill, creativity, and dedication to the jazz tradition.
