In collaboration with five emerging QTPOC (Queer/Trans People of Color) composers from the Poiesis Quartet’s alma mater, Oberlin College and Conservatory, this impactful commission project expands the string quartet canon with approaches to music-making that are too often unheard. This project brings underrepresented voices, genres, and influences to the forefront. This concert will feature world premieres by Zola Saadi-Klein, Max Lang, Calvin Shawler, Maya Irizarry ’24 and Indigo Stephens.
