Biography

I am trained as an atmospheric scientist. My lab at Oberlin combines physical models of the atmosphere with machine learning and Bayesian statistics. Our goal is to transform remote sensing observations of atmospheric composition into actionable information about the source and fate of reactive air pollutants and greenhouse gases. By illuminating the social, meteorological, and ecological drivers of pollutant emissions, my research identifies areas of joint air quality and climate action.

Beyond my scientific research, I am interested in the connection between environmental science and social movements. I have worked with historians, philosophers, designers, organizers, and economists on taking scientific knowledge beyond the lab.
