‌Student Transportation Options

Oberlin College & Conservatory offers numerous transportation offers for students to get around campus, the city of Oberlin, and to access the Greater Cleveland Area! To learn more about our initiatives, please visit our website and follow us on Instagram at @OCTransportation.

Here are a few highlights of our transportation options for students:

  • EV Car Share - The City of Oberlin and Oberlin College have four all-electric CarShare vehicles (Chevrolet Bolts) available to any city resident or College student with a valid driver's license, pending certain requirements. The cost is $8 an hour (plus tax) and covers 25 miles. The program is provided through Sway Mobility, a company that provides electric vehicles as CarShares so people without readily available personal transportation can still get around.

  • “ObieExpress” Cleveland Shuttle - New for the 2023-2024 Academic Year is the “ObieExpress” shuttle! The “ObieExpress” takes groups of students throughout the Greater Cleveland Area for social and shopping experiences weekly on Thursdays through Sundays. Information on reserving the shuttle will be released in the digest.

  • Oberlin College Shopping Shuttle - The shuttle offers Saturday service from Stevenson Hall to Drug Mart, IGA, Walmart, and CVS on a loop. Riders can board at any location. This service is available from 2-6pm on Saturdays during the academic year. The shuttles depart from Stevenson Hall approximately every half hour. Reservations are not required and the service is free.

  • Oberlin Connector - Lorain County and the City of Oberlin provide public transportation options for city residents. The Oberlin Connector offers door-to-door service to nearby cities such as Lorain and Elyria to transport residents for medical appointments, shopping trips, and other necessities. Students pay just $1 per one-way trip. Reservations are required.

  • Break shuttles to the airport - Oberlin College partners with Airport Oberlin Shuttle (AOS) to provide a variety of shuttle services to campus, including shuttle service between Oberlin College and Cleveland Hopkins International Airport before and after breaks and special events such as Parent’s and Family Weekend.
‌Move-In Traffic Announcement

During Move-In on Sunday, August 27, there will be no parking southbound on Woodland Street (west side) and temporary 10 minute drop off parking on the northbound side (east side). This is to facilitate students dropping off their belongings by their residence halls. Union Street will also be posted for 10 minute drop off parking only.

Woodland will become one-way, northbound and Union Street, between Woodland and North Professor Street will become one-way eastbound.

We are asking that anyone who is parked on Woodland or Union Street by Langston Hall to please move to a parking lot for the night to clear the road for the morning.

Campus Safety Officers will be setting up barricades at 2:00 am on Sunday morning and the one-way traffic pattern will begin at 8:00 am and continue through the move-in activities. If you have questions about this change to the traffic pattern, you may contact Campus Safety at 440-775-8444.

Your cooperation in this matter is greatly appreciated.
