Biography

Hemmingsen enjoys teaching organic chemistry. Building on her own experiences as an interdisciplinary researcher and mentor, she views foundational chemistry concepts as tools to investigate and understand the world around us and a means to develop analytical and metacognitive skills that serve students across disciplines and career paths. She is interested in designing new approaches towards student-centered learning that employ evidence-based and culturally relevant practices to ensure learning is inclusive, accessible, and meaningful.
