Update Your Phone Number for Oberlin’s Emergency Alert System (ObieAlert)

How to Update Your Phone Number

  1. Log in to OberView / My Self Service.
    Access your account using your Oberlin credentials.

  2. Go to “My Profile” or “Update Contact Information.”
    Locate the section where your phone numbers are listed.

  3. Review and edit your mobile phone number.

    • Make sure your mobile number is listed correctly.

    • If prompted, confirm your carrier (especially if you recently changed providers).

    • Remove any outdated or inactive numbers.

  4. Save your changes.
    Click Save or Submit to ensure your new information is stored in the system.

  5. Optional: Verify through the ObieAlert App.

    • Download the ObieAlert app from the Apple App Store or Google Play.

    • Sign in with your Oberlin credentials.

    • Check that notifications and location permissions are enabled.


 Why It Matters

Keeping your phone number current ensures you receive timely updates during emergencies, weather closures, or campus safety situations. Text alerts and voice calls are only sent to the numbers on file in your official profile.
