Steps to Help Keep Our Campus Safe

Campus Safety

Following the tragic events at Brown University, Campus Safety will continue increased patrols and maintain high visibility both on and off campus, in coordination with the Oberlin Police Department. Our priority is to ensure a safe environment for everyone.

We also remind all community members to remain vigilant and mindful of personal safety. Please review and follow the precautions below:

  • Download ObieAlert, our official emergency alert app, which provides the fastest and most reliable way to reach you during an emergency.

  • Report suspicious activity immediately by calling 440-775-8444 or submitting a tip through the ObieAlert app.

  • Do not hold open doors that require key-card access or allow individuals to “tailgate” into secured buildings.

  • Review active assailant guidance on the Campus Safety website, which outlines three key steps: Avoid, Deny, Defend.

Campus Safety, centrally located in Dascomb Hall, is open 24 hours a day and is always available to support students, faculty, and staff. Please visit us or call 440-775-8444 if you need assistance.

Students who would benefit from additional support are encouraged to use our campus support resources. Faculty and staff may access support through the employee assistance program.
