Campus Reminder: Staying Safe

Campus Safety

Oberlin is an idyllic and safe city full of history and architecture.  Please get to know your town and the many fun things to do and see.

As you get settled into campus and begin to explore the town, your safety is our top priority. We want to remind you to always be mindful of your surroundings. Some of our campus buildings have general access, which means the public can enter, so it's important to be aware of who and what is around you. In buildings with limited access, such as residence halls, please be sure to only allow yourself access and not allow others to “tailgate” into the building

See Something, Say Something

If you ever see something suspicious or are involved in an incident, please report it right away. Don't hesitate or overthink it—if you're even considering contacting someone, just do it.

Here are a few easy ways to get in touch with safety officials:

On Campus:

  • Campus Safety: Call them directly at 440-775-8444 or use the ObieAlert app to quickly connect.
  • All members of the campus community are encouraged to download the ObieAlert app using the links below and log in using your Oberlin single sign-on credentials:

Off Campus:

  • 911: For any immediate emergency.
  • Oberlin Police Department: Call them directly at 440-774-1061.

Staying vigilant and reporting anything unusual helps keep our entire community safe. If you have any questions or need assistance, please don't hesitate to reach out.

Stay safe, Obies!
