  • Always wear a helmet to protect yourself in case of an accident.
  • Use a bike light and reflective gear, especially at night or during low visibility.
  • Obey traffic laws, including stop signs and signals, as bicycles are considered vehicles.
  • Ride on the right-hand side of the road, in the same direction as traffic.
  • Stay alert and avoid distractions like headphones while riding.
  • Use hand signals to communicate your intentions to drivers and pedestrians.
  • Check your bike regularly for maintenance, including brakes, tires, and chains.
  • Lock your bike securely when not in use, preferably with a U-lock.
  • Be cautious around pedestrians, especially in high-traffic areas near campus.
  • Plan your route in advance to utilize bike-friendly paths and avoid hazardous areas.
  • Do not ride bicycles or skateboards on downtown sidewalks.
