Bicycle Safety Reminders
Campus Safety offers these important bike safety tips:

- Always wear a helmet to protect yourself in case of an accident.
- Use a bike light and reflective gear, especially at night or during low visibility.
- Obey traffic laws, including stop signs and signals, as bicycles are considered vehicles.
- Ride on the right-hand side of the road, in the same direction as traffic.
- Stay alert and avoid distractions like headphones while riding.
- Use hand signals to communicate your intentions to drivers and pedestrians.
- Check your bike regularly for maintenance, including brakes, tires, and chains.
- Lock your bike securely when not in use, preferably with a U-lock.
- Be cautious around pedestrians, especially in high-traffic areas near campus.
- Plan your route in advance to utilize bike-friendly paths and avoid hazardous areas.
- Do not ride bicycles or skateboards on downtown sidewalks.
