With a capacity of approximately 185 students, Burton offers first year students the opportunity to meet a variety of people from many different backgrounds. Located on north campus, the hall has quick and easy access to the North Quad, Stevenson Dining Hall, and Jesse Philips Physical Education Center.

The three-story building features study lounges, three music practice rooms, and laundry facilities. It also provides space for the Oberlin Review student newspaper and The Grape, the alternative student press. Both operate from the basement of Burton.

Some students find the vaulted ceilings, large windows, and lack of cinderblock walls give Burton the homey feel they want in a residence hall.
