We are closely monitoring the evolving public health situation at local, state, and national levels on a regular basis in order to determine whether and when we can safely offer in-person campus visits for prospective families. Visit opportunities will be added to our registration page for any dates when we are able to safely accommodate visitors. If you do not see any in-person visit options on our registration page, please check back again in the future for updates on our offerings.
Several procedures and requirements have been put in place to protect the health of our visitors, staff, and students. As the situation changes and new information becomes available, we may need to change or cancel admissions events.
Following guidance from the Ohio Department of Health, we are discouraging in-person activities on campus for visitors traveling from states reporting positive testing rates of 15% or higher for COVID-19. The list of states (updated weekly on Wednesdays) can be found here along with COVID-19 Guidance on Ohio Travel. This travel advisory may impact any visits to Oberlin's campus for events and tours.
So that we can offer the safest and most positive visit experience, registration for a campus visit is required. No walk-in visitors can be accommodated at this time. If you arrive and don’t have a scheduled appointment, you will be offered a campus map and given the opportunity for a self-guided tour.
Guided Campus Tours
Campus tours will be offered at select times Monday through Saturdays in fall 2020. There will be only one family per tour. To prevent possible exposure, we recommend limiting the number of people joining you for your visit. In order to follow health department guidelines, all tours will be limited to 10 people. Until further notice, campus tours will be exterior/outside tours only.
Conservatory Information Session and Tour
We are now offering a combined information session and tour to a limited number of conservatory prospective students each weekday. The Conservatory Information Session will take place inside the Birenbaum Innovation and Performance Space. Originally planned to be outside, the format of the conservatory tour may be adapted for health and/or weather reasons depending on the current circumstances. Advance registration is required.
