Biography

Tara earned an Education Doctorate Degree in mental health counseling and brings a variety of relevant education, experience, and knowledge to the Oberlin community. Tara has worked in multiple behavioral health settings, including inpatient psychiatric and substance use treatment (inpatient, residential, outpatient). Tara also served as an adjunct professor who taught courses focused on group counseling. Most recently, Tara worked in a community college setting closely with diverse student populations on health promotion and well-being initiatives. In addition, Tara served as the Co-Chair of the Behavioral Intervention Team (BIT) and provided training and workshops to the campus community on various behavioral health topics. Tara is passionate about normalizing the conversation on wellness and is excited to empower students in building self-efficacy, resilience, and other skills that promote student success.
