Biography

Patrick John Kiernan serves as the Sound Designer and Production Coordinator in Oberlin Conservatory’s Music Theater Program. Prior to Oberlin, he worked as a theatrical sound designer and audio engineer in NYC and in regional theaters across the U.S. His training includes immersive audio systems such as Soundscape and L-ISA as well as certifications in Network Design and Assisted Listening System Technologies. As an educator, Kiernan has led workshops in sound design and technology in Cleveland, Pittsburgh, and Cincinnati. Kiernan’s professional affiliations include the Audio Engineering Society (AES), the Ohio Valley Chapter of the United States Institute for Theatre Technology (USITT), and the Sound Designers and Composers Association (TSDCA).
