Cold War Choir

In spring 1964, the Oberlin College Choir traveled throughout the Soviet Union and Romania, performing 40 concerts in five distinct programs and seven languages—all from memory—over an eight-week period. Alumni of that historic cultural exchange returned to campus November 15 to 17 to celebrate its 50th anniversary .

Opera Theater’s Fall Production Opens Wednesday

Contrary to popular belief, Engelbert Humperdinck’s most popular work—the opera Hänsel und Gretel —is not just for children, and in the Oberlin Opera Theater’s unique rendition, it’s barely for children at all. The classic fairy tale takes an exhilarating turn toward the macabre in the production, which opens Wednesday, November 6, with additional performances November 8 through 10 in Hall Auditorium.
