A performer who seems to glide through the air against a night backdrop, propelled by wispy long wings that give off a majestic glow, serves as inspiration for this week’s photo series.

Creativity is in abundance at Oberlin College; from writing to dance, and music to performance, the campus is filled with individuals who capture artistic expression and share it with peers and beyond. Recent performances and activities depicted in this photo series are just some of the examples of the sheer creativity that thrives on campus.

Natsu Matsuri, or summer festival, took place in the Root Room. These annual community-building festivals are traditionally held by Japanese and Japanese-Americans during late summer and include games, food booths, and performances. With the college holding a summer semester this year, members of the Japanese, Japanese American, and Asian American communities brought the festival to Oberlin and invited the campus to attend.
