Thyagaraja at Oberlin

“Thyagaraja at Oberlin: 12 Hours in South India” featured a performance by Vyasarpadi Kkothandaraman on the nadaswaram (a predecessor of the modern oboe) at the Apollo Theatre on April 22. The event showcased South Indian music, film, and dance with performances by vocalist Suguna Varadachari, Bharatanatyam dance, and a screening of Ship of Theseus, a production lauded as one of 15 “life-changing” films of all time.
