A steel beam signed by trustees, faculty, alumni, and more was lifted into place Friday, March 13, at the top of the Peter B. Lewis Gateway Hotel and Conference Center. Construction of the 100,000-square-foot Gateway Center is progressing nicely: Now in place in the basement are an elevator and stairwell that will lead down to what will be a jazz club. Once completed, the complex will include a 70-room hotel, commercial and office space, and a restaurant featuring locally grown and sourced fare.
