Sharon Ault retired May 4, 2013, as grill/counter/cashier with campus dining. Of her 11 years stationed primarily in Wilder Hall’s DeCafé and Rathskeller she says, “I loved working there.”
Ault says she misses her coworkers and hopes to keep in touch, noting especially Enola Bowlen, who retired a few years ago. Of the students she served and worked with, Ault says, “They are so brilliant. Students are so awesome and so much fun to be around.” She likens getting to know them during their time at Oberlin to “raising your own kids.”
Ault’s immediate plan for retirement is to recover from two knee replacement surgeries. Then she plans to volunteer with Oberlin’s OASIS Animal Shelter and Wellington’s Meals on Wheels.
