Convocation: A Conversation with Author David Sheff and son Nic Sheff, April 11
David Sheff, author of the book Beautiful Boy, and his son Nic will give a convocation talk in Finney Chapel. Their story is portrayed in the 2018 film by the same name. The film was adapted from David Sheff's book and Nic's memoir, Tweak. The talk will be moderated by Kameron Dunbar '19. A book signing will follow the convocation. Free and open to the public.

Oberlin Theater: Body of Bourne, April 11-14
Through dramatized scenes, letters, and essays, Body of Bourne presents the biography of renowned writer and World War I pacifist Randolph Bourne, whose short but meaningful life was forever affected by his physical disabilities. From his timid childhood to his ascent as an impassioned social critic, Bourne’s journey takes him around the world, overcoming physical obstacles through his intellect and his friends. Directed by Visiting Assistant Professor of Theater Jason Dorwart.

Spring Back Dance Showcase, April 11-13
Presented each year, Fall Forward and Spring Back showcase student and sometimes faculty choreography. Chair and Professor of Dance Ann Cooper Albright will direct Spring Back.

An Evening with Susan Orlean, April 15
New York Times bestselling author Susan Orlean has been called “a national treasure” by the Washington Post. Her latest work, the instant bestseller The Library Book, explores the history, power, and future of these endangered institutions. The Library Book is told through the lens of Orlean’s quest to solve a notorious cold case: who set fire to the Los Angeles Public Library in 1986? A book signing will follow the talk. Free and open to the public.
