Multifaith Chaplaincy & Sustained Dialogue
Lewis House Hospitality
Lewis House is home to the Multifaith Chaplaincy and Sustained Dialogue, a place where student and administrative staff (interns, dialogue facilitators, coordinator and director) explore the practice of transformative hospitality. A common thread among users of this space is their programming interest in support of human-human and human-land relating.
In addition to Oberlin Buddhist Fellowship and Queer & Trans Spritiuali-tea, current users include Barefoot Dialogue, both general groups and affinity groups: Neurodivergent Dialogue, Land-Focused Dialogue, Multifaith Dialogue, BIPOC Identity and Experience Dialogue, Grief-Based Dialogue, Graduating Students Dialogue, Spectrum of Sexuality & Romanticism Dialogue, International Student Dialogue, Trans Identity and Experience Dialogue, Jewish Identity and Experience Dialogue, First Year Dialogue, and Oberlin Experience Dialogue.
A signature, all-inclusive event is Waffle Wednesdays where late brunch, early lunch attendees from all corners on campus enjoy hot waffles and syrup made from maple trees at Tappan Square. Watch for these warm gatherings hosted by Multifaith Chaplaincy & Sustained Dialogue staff held periodically. We are also open as a third space for study and socialization on Wednesday and Friday afternoons.
