Biography

Matthew Webb is a resident designer at Great Lakes Theater, Idaho Shakespeare Festival, and Lake Tahoe Shakespeare Festival. His credits as music director include Into the Woods; Natasha, Pierre & the Great Comet of 1812; Little Shop of Horrors; Mamma Mia; The Music Man; Beehive; Forever Plaid; The Fantasticks; Sweeney Todd; Sondheim on Sondheim; Guys & Dolls; Cabaret; Two Gentlemen of Verona; Bat Boy; The Mystery of Edwin Drood; and A Christmas Carol. As sound designer/composer: The Merry Wives of Windsor; Dracula: The Bloody Truth; As You Like It; The 39 Steps; Much Ado About Nothing; The Tempest; Julius Caesar; The Taming of the Shrew; Macbeth; Hamlet; and several Shakesperience tours. His other credits include sound designing and composing for the Oregon Shakespeare Festival (Alice in Wonderland), music directing at Cleveland’s Beck Center for the Arts (Ride the Cyclone, Ghost, Lizzie, The Scottsboro Boys, Once, and Hair), and Playhouse Square (Ordinary Days, Lizzie, and I Love You Because). He has also worked at several other theaters across the world, including The Irish Repertory Theatre, Tokyu Theatre Orb, New World Stages, Kansas City Starlight, Milwaukee Repertory Theatre, Ars Nova, Village Theatre, and American Folklore Theatre. Webb’s educational theater credits include the educational premieres of Kinky Boots and The Phantom of the Opera. He is also the music supervisor of the acclaimed corporate entertainment group the Water Coolers, performing for clients such as AT&T, Adobe, Citibank, Travelers, Toastmasters, Gogo Air, Pitney Bowes, and Dunkin Brands.
