Biography

As the Librarian for Learning and Access Services in the Conservatory Library, Krista is passionate about serving library patrons and faculty alike. She is responsible for overseeing reference and instruction as well as circulation. Her mission is to cultivate a space through empathetic leadership for all learners to access the information they need and embrace thinking critically. Previously, she held positions and fellowships at Indiana University Bloomington’s Cook Music Library, the Library of Congress, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum Library and Archives, and the Cleveland Orchestra Archives. Her responsibilities spanned a wide range from circulation, library instruction, cataloging, public engagement, and inventory management.

Krista’s research interests include music and film (particularly horror films), dance, and popular music. She is currently working on her dissertation for her Ph.D. in musicology from Case Western Reserve University and has an upcoming chapter in Beyond Zombie Politics: The Art of George A. Romero’s Cinema (forthcoming, 2025). She is active in the Society for American Music, American Musicological Society, and the Music Library Association, currently serving on MLA’s Nominating Committee.
