Biography

MMargaret Kamitsuka is the Francis W. & Lydia L. Davis Emeritus Professor of Religion at Oberlin College, where she taught courses in gender and religion. Her most recent publication is Discontented Belief: A Theology of Restlessness (Fortress, 2026). Her other monographs include these titles: Desirable Belief: A Theology of Eros (Fortress, 2024); Unborn Bodies: Resurrection and Reproductive Agency (Fortress, 2023); and Abortion and the Christian Tradition: A Pro-choice Theological Ethic (WJK, 2019).  She co-edited the T & T Clark Reader in Abortion and Religion: Jewish, Christian, and Muslim Perspectives (T&T Clark/Bloomsbury, 2023).  Professor Kamitsuka is concluding her 10-year service as the book editor for the American Academy of Religion’s “Academy Series,” which partners with Oxford University Press to publish revised dissertations and first books.
