Biography

As the Circulation Coordinator at the Conservatory Library, Gwendolyn Oeseburg oversees circulation procedures, course reserves, collection support, and anything else that comes through the Conservatory Library Circulation Desk.  She encourages and promotes a helpful, resourceful, and user-friendly circulation process while promoting engagement between materials, staff, and patrons. 

Her previous experience in libraries includes reference and instruction, collection management, planned programming, preservation and collection maintenance, archival description including finding aids, and curatorial displays of both archival and library materials.

Her area of scholarly interests are feminist musicology and the intersectionality of musicians and music collecting. She is an active presenter and participant in the Music Library Association and serves as a member of the Reference Resources Subcommittee.

Circulation Coordinator Gwendolyn Oeseburg, Librarian for Learning and Access Services in the Conservatory Library Krista Mitchell, and Stacks Manager Kyler Decker presented at the 2026 Music Library Association annual meeting. Their talk, titled "Navigating an ILS Migration: A Public Services Perspective," covered support and training of student workers as Oberlin transitioned to a new library system last summer.
