OFS Presents: Metropolis

Welcome back to a new season of OFS screenings! The Oberlin Film Society (OFS) will screen Metropolis (1927), German expressionist Fritz Lang’s masterpiece, written by Thea von Harbou from her 1925 novel of the same name. Metropolis is a pioneer in several important ways: it was arguably the first feature-length science-fiction film, its use of art deco style was unprecedented, it was the first dystopian story on screen, and it was the first movie to feature a robot. Needless to say, the film is highly relevant today. Come see Metropolis on Tuesday, September 2, at 7:15 p.m. and Sunday, September 7, at 4:15 p.m.!
