The Oberlin Film Society (OFS) will screen Titicut Follies (1967), an American direct cinema documentary directed by Frederick Wiseman observing the abuse and mistreatment of Bridgewater State Hospital’s inmate-patients. It conquered the force of governmental censorship after being the first case of a film being banned from American distribution for reasons beyond obscenity, immorality, or national security.
