Want to learn how to use one of the most powerful advocacy tools? Join us! Sunrise is hosting another Letter to the Editor (LTE) training and writing workshop.

An LTE is a short statement (2-3 paragraphs) written to a newspaper in support of/opposition to a specific bill or policy. Politicians regularly monitor LTEs to inform their decisions. There are many important climate and other issues being discussed in Congress right now, so now is a great time to advocate! LTEs can be used to advocate for any issue you're passionate about - climate policy, Gaza, abortion rights, etc.

We'll do a training on how to write an LTE from 7-7:30ish, and then you can stay as short or as long as you'd like to start writing yours (or, if you just want to come learn and not write, that's also totally fine)! If you already know how to write LTEs, feel free to drop in whenever to work on writing yours!

What better way to spend your Tuesday evening than learning one of the most effective advocacy skills that you can use throughout the rest of your life? While eating cookies and drinking tea??
