THE HOUSE IS ON FIRE … LET IT BURN!
A glimpse into the path of an unusual documentary film project by Ines Johnson-Spain, the German Language & Literature Department's 2026 Writer-in-Residence.
This presentation offers an early insight into the theme and form of the current film project, THE HOUSE IS ON FIRE … LET IT BURN! by filmmaker Ines Johnson-Spain. She will describe the path toward an Afro-feminist documentary that explores new strategies for a better relationship with our planet by challenging the long-standing divide between science and spirituality.
The film being created brings together Naked Protests and other magical practices of initiated women elders in West Africa with technologies of Western contemporary science lab projects of international scientists.
