Geosciences Summer Field Course (GEOS 350) Info Session

Have you taken any 100 GEOS Course? Are you interested in expanding your research skills? Do you want to get a hands-on out of the classroom experience? This immersive field course, lead by professors Megan Flansburg and Maximiliano Paz, will expose students to a range of methods, such as synthesizing field data into geologic maps and stratigraphic columns, and build students’ skills in structural geology, sedimentology, stratigraphy, and paleontology. The course will entail camping for over two weeks in various National Parks and other public lands and will travel in a counterclockwise loop through parts of Nevada, Arizona, and Utah to utilize the region’s well-exposed geology at places such as the Grand Canyon, the San Francisco volcanic field, the Painted Desert, and the Book Cliffs as world-class examples.
