The first lesbian movie in history, Leontine Sagan's Mädchen in Uniform (1931), shaped the cinematic language of queer desire. This masterpiece of pre-WWII German cinema, made with an all-female cast, was explicitly anti-authoritarian and pioneered a powerful message of defiance and solidarity.

Screening in the Kade (German House) lounge. In German with English subtitles.
