A native of Sugar Land, Texas, Evan Hines graduated from Oberlin Conservatory of Music in 2016 with a bachelor's degree in piano performance with an emphasis on collaboration. He completed solo studies under the tutelage of Sanford Margolis and Alvin Chow, with his collaborative studies guided by Philip Highfill and James Howsmon. In 2018 Hines graduated from the University of Michigan with a master’s degree in collaborative piano under the instruction of Martin Katz. He has also had the opportunity to perform in the Kent Blossom Chamber Music Festival where he worked with Joela Jones. Hines is a member of Trio Continuum, an Ann Arbor-based piano trio that recently presented a concert tour throughout Mexico.
