Biography

As art librarian at the Clarence Ward Art Library, Eugénie aims to make the study and making of art accessible to all. Eugénie is enthusiastic about introducing students, faculty, staff, and members of the community to new ways of appreciating art and art history, from discovering and interacting with unique artworks in the form artists’ books, to tracing international networks of artists’ correspondence in mail art, to the more traditional approaches of consulting numerous and varied resources to conduct research. She hopes to enhance the Clarence Ward Art Library’s significance as a third space for learning, practice, analysis, and engagement with the arts in a variety of ways.

Eugénie’s research interests are continually expanding and include turn-of-the-20th-century Western painting, the theme of home across art history, and the evolution of artists’ books since the 1970s.
