Office of the Dean of Students

Dear Obies,

Our next midterm election will take place on Tuesday, November 8th.  This is your reminder to prepare for the election by registering to vote in Ohio OR requesting your absentee ballot, or even voluteering for a campaign!

If you are a US citizen, make sure you know where you are going to vote and make a plan for voting. The deadline to register or update your address in Ohio is October 11. Remember that if your address has changed since you registered, you will need to update your registration. Looks for groups around campus or you can always go to the Science Library. A library staff member will help you complete your voter registration and check to make sure all your information is filled out correctly. For more information about voting in Ohio, visit VoteOhio.gov.

If you are registered at home, NOW is the time to Request an Absentee Ballot and remember that you will likely have to ask for your ballot by mail. Make sure you give yourself enough time to get your ballot.

Whether you are a citizen or not, you can participate in campaigns. Look up local candidates at Vote411.org, and if you want to support them, consider contacting their campaigns for volunteer opportunities.

You can find more resources regarding the upcoming election, including registration in other states and absentee ballot requests, by visiting our Resources for Students page. Happy voting!
