Unless otherwise noted, the following groups meet at the Elisabeth Severance Prentiss Bereavement Center, 300 E. 185th St., Cleveland. For registration, group times, and information, call 216-486-6838.
Circle of Hope | A six-week educational support class for adults who have had a loved one die. Registration is required. |
Hope and Healing | An ongoing monthly support group for grieving adults offered at five different locations. Special group offered for the young adult. |
Horizons |
A monthly support group designed for the older adult adjusting to life without their loved one. This group is offered on the eastside and westside, is open-ended and ongoing. |
New Beginnings | A monthly support group for young widows and widowers (ages 55 and younger). This group offered on the eastside and westside, is open-ended and ongoing. |
Men's Grief Group | A monthly breakfast for men who are grieving the death of a loved one. This group is open-ended and ongoing. |
Stepping Stones | An informational session for the newly bereaved that features a video about grief and provides an informal opportunity to learn about our programs on grief and loss. |
Children's Services | Death education and support groups for children, youth and families in a variety of formats, including groups for those experiencing loss through violence, the death of a parent or sibling, or other specific needs. |
S.T.A.R.S. - Supporting Tears, Anger, Remembrance and Sadness | A six-week support group for grieving children ages 7 to 12. Groups are expressive in nature and led by experienced facilitators using play, art, and music therapies. While the children are meeting, there is also an adult support group to assist parents and family members in dealing with their own grief. Groups are held on the eastside and westside. Registration is required. |
On Eagles Wings | A monthly support group for families who have experienced the death of a young child. This group is for children ages 7 to 12 and their parents. Children and adults meet separately. |
Project Journey | A six-week support group for teens who have experienced the death of a loved one. Join a group of other teens for music, art and support. Pizza dinner included. Registration is required. |
A Little One's Group | A four-week support group for children ages 3 to 5 (and their guardian) who have experienced the death of a loved one. Snack provided. Registration is required. |
Helping Hands/Healing Hearts | A monthly support group for children ages 6 to 13 and adults who have experienced the death of a loved one. Children and adults meet separately. |
Infant Loss | Support is available for parents experiencing pregnancy, newborn or infant death up to one year of age. |
