Department Awards
Established in July, 1902 by a gift from Merritt Starr. The Prize is awarded by the Politics Department to outstanding graduating seniors in the studies of civics, economics, political history, and kindred subjects.

2023-24 Geneen Scholars
Politics majors Sophia Cartsonis '24, Alyson Jefferson '24, and Claire Schmelzer 'Dec. '23 were selected as 2023-24 Geneen Scholars through a grant to Oberlin from the Harold S. Geneen Charitable Trust. Open to junior or senior economics or politics majors, the scholarships support talented students who have a demonstrated interest in corporate management and governance and whose financial resources are augmented by their own efforts.
