Online Tools for Current Students
The Academic Advising Resource Center offers a range of services and resources to assist you in your academic endeavors at Oberlin. Our staff and your academic advisors will guide you as necessary in such areas as course selections and scheduling, academic and degree planning, registration and more.
Blackboard is the college’s course management software. Faculty routinely use Blackboard (Bb) to provide course materials for students to access anytime via the web, provide interactive study guides, develop discussion boards, implement online quizzes, send e-mail to students in courses, among others uses.
Our Blackboard suite allows for other uses including instructional support for faculty, a syllabus builder, discussions boards for campus groups, departments and offices, virtual classroom/ collaboration tools, assessments and surveys, among other online tools.

Degree Works is a comprehensive web-based, academic advising and degree audit tool that helps students and their advisors successfully navigate curriculum requirements. This system allows for real-time academic advising, streamlined degree planning and more.
Degree Works has a number of useful functions for students as they plan their academic courses.
You can access Degree Works through OberView .
OberView is a mobile-responsive online tool used to access online campus services. Instead of navigating through the Oberlin College website to access the academic calendar, course registration information, financial aid information, etc., you can easily access those areas and others by searching for the task you want using OberView. Some of the tasks in OberView will guide you to Banner Self Service (formerly PRESTO).
