Biography

As a teacher and mentor, I have taught a wide range of creative and transdisciplinary writing courses, from first-year seminars to senior capstone projects. I am deeply invested in connecting students to our many intersecting communities, having worked in the nonprofit sector before finding my way back to higher education through creative writing and public humanities.

As a scholar, my research interests include early modern poetry and poetics, contemporary creative writing, theology, and embodiment. I earned my Ph.D. in English at Case Western Reserve University, an MFA in Creative Writing at Chatham University, and an MTS at Vanderbilt Divinity School. I am also a proud first-generation college student who earned his B.A. at Washington & Jefferson College.
