Due to COVID-19 and the emphasis on the safety of our campus community, we have suspended all activities and events until May 1. The Student of Color Conference [SOCC] sponsored by CHAS scheduled for April 3-5, 2020, has been canceled due to the potential public health threat. We appreciate your interest in CHAS and look forward to seeing you at other CHAS student conferences.

Facing Forward: Cultivating a Culture of Belonging

Consortium on High Achievement and Success (CHAS)
Hosted by Oberlin College

April 3–5, 2020

To belong is the core of being human, and we define ourselves through a matrix of belonging. As we approach a year of transformation, how do members of underrepresented groups “face forward” and develop a sense of belonging in the world, in the United States, and on the college campus?

Based at Trinity College in Hartford, Connecticut, CHAS partners with member colleges to offer high quality programs, resources, research, professional development and other services that will eliminate institutional barriers and forge pathways for achievement and success—for students as well as the institution.

The biennial student conferences are one of the many ways CHAS seeks to address the challenges and explore the opportunities for students of color at select liberal arts colleges.
