  • Director of Student Success & Success Coach

Madlynn earned a Bachelors degree in sociology at Baldwin Wallace University, where she minored in Asian studies and sustainability. She recently completed her Masters degree in sociology at the University of Iowa.

As a graduate student at the University of Iowa, Maddie taught and mentored undergraduate students through her role as a teaching assistant. Due to her success as a teaching assistant, Maddie was awarded the Outstanding Teaching Assistant award: a university-wide award recognizing teaching assistants for their dedication to student education and success. Maddie also took part in research related to racial inequality and Asian American experiences during her time in Iowa.

Through her experiences in both her undergraduate and graduate education, Maddie became particularly passionate about student empowerment and contributing to the holistic wellness of students. She is thrilled at the opportunity to help Oberlin students grow academically, socially, personally and professionally.

In her free time, Maddie likes listening to music, taking thousands of pictures of her son, and spending time outdoors with her dogs. She also enjoys learning new languages and traveling.
