Biography

Having grown up in a nearby Cleveland suburb and working with Oberlin admissions since 1998, I consider myself a “pseudo-Obie.” A firm believer in the value of education, I earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees in psychology at the University of Toledo and a doctorate in higher and postsecondary education at the University of Michigan. After attending large state universities, I truly appreciate the individual attention Oberlin students receive from our faculty. I hope to meet you during my travels and share my love of Oberlin with you.

I’ve been working in college admissions for many years and love working with students and their families in the college search process. I’ve been through the process with my two sons and gained a new appreciation for the process after seeing it through their eyes. I promise you that it will all work out!

As “growing boys,” my kiddos love to eat—a lot—so they’re lucky that I enjoy cooking. I also enjoy gardening, going to art shows, theater productions, and reading. I’m always on the hunt for a great book, so let me know if you have any must-reads.
