Biography

Kymber Taylor was appointed associate vice president for institutional effectiveness and planning in fall 2022. In this role, she serves as the chief data and analytics officer for Oberlin and reports directly to the vice president for finance and administration.

Taylor leads Oberlin’s institutional research efforts, with emphasis on support of integrated planning, management of institutional assessments and operational effectiveness initiatives, management of research and analytics—with a focus on cultivating student success analytics—and leadership of institutional data strategy and data governance.

She arrived at Oberlin with extensive experience leveraging academic and operational data in support of institutional mission and improved student outcomes. Previously, she led institutional research and analytics, assessment, program review, planning, and data governance for the University of Science in Philadelphia. She also has held posts at Holy Family University and Stevenson University in the areas of institutional research, assessment, and planning.

Taylor has served as a peer evaluator for regional accreditors (MSCHE, SACS-COC), research liaison for the Association of Independent Colleges and Universities in Pennsylvania, and has held leadership positions with the Northeast Association for Institutional Research. She is an active presenter at regional and national institutional research, assessment, and accreditation forums, and she serves as a mentor for junior analysts and other women and girls in data science and analytics.
