Josh Nolan

Biography

Josh Nolan is a partner and higher education attorney at Bricker Graydon LLP in Cleveland. He served as the interim general counsel at Oberlin College from June 2021 through February 2022 and then again in July 2025 through December 2025 before he was appointed by President Ambar to the position permanently following a national search. Throughout his career, he has helped numerous universities, public institutions, and private colleges handle many facets of education law, including Title IX, and he manages sensitive litigation and administrative actions for individuals, institutions, and universities. 

Understanding that higher education law involves complicated and personal issues, Nolan takes an unbiased, professional, and knowledgeable approach to identify, resolve, and prevent such issues. Nolan also has more than 10 years of experience as a college administrator.
