The month of Ramadan is a holy time for Muslims worldwide. They fast during the day and enjoy a meal at sunset. The Muslim Students Association (MSA) and the Middle East Studies Program (MENA) are cordially inviting studnets and faculty to join an Iftar sunset dinner with fasting Muslims on campus. Besides enjoying delicious Afghan food and Middle Eastern desserts and teas, it is an opportunity to learn about Islam and how its communities in different regions practice their faith.

Open Iftar will include a presentation about Islam, Ramadan, and fasting, as well as Qur'ān recitation.

The event is generously sponsored the Politics, History, and CAST Departments along with Shansi House & Bonner Center.

** Non-Muslim students who will volunteer to fast for the full day (from sunrise to sunset) or half of the day (from noon to sunset) on Friday will win a prize! Please contact Fawad Mohammadi for more info. (fmohamma@oberlin.edu
